N'lon;
Apocalon, the oldest of three, was originally Ruathan by birth. His father was killed by an accident with a runnerbeast and their young, self-concerned mother barely tolerated the presence of her children. She was lavish. "Go hungry if you must, but always have a good suit."

When Apocalon was five he and his siblings were split up and dispersed to various foster homes. Apocalon was an aloof, remote child who didn't talk much until the age of ten. At twelve he was goaded to Healerhall to train like his foster father did. The disobedient youth was uncooperative and unmotivated and thereby removed from apprenticeship. He suffered through a beating once returning home and in rage or retreat, ran back to Fort Hold to avail himself there as a hunter. There he gained a reputation for fighting after much bullying for being snide, fatherless and a loner.

Liberated by Klari and Daemith for an Ista Weyr clutch, N'lon Impressed brown Rhyolith. He graduated behind the rest of his class and was lackluster in Phoenix Wing, even when promoted to Wingleader by Kr'lin. His brown caught more than controversy when he settled gold Zhyraeth in both her mating flight and her next after that. Two children are proof of the liaison.

N'lon is a man who is not easily forgotten through direct or indirect contact. The brownrider's reckless personality and self-autonomy often make him the bearer of controversy. Ruatha, Fort Hold, then Ista have each in their own way housed the man during his lifetime. A rough life has shaped a rough man who is not motivated by protocol or driven to achieve rank. His actions are neither predictable nor reliable. Whatever choices he makes are preeminently driven by rough resolve and indomitable furor. An able horseman, archer and womanizer, N'lon covers most of the staples of machismo.

L'ton;
Liton has extended roots in several places on Pern. His father, N'lon, is currently of Ista Weyr while his mother, Liette, is further north. His time was divided between the island and Fort Weyr. Aside from hunting and watching his younger siblings, Liton was and is a natural around runnerbeasts. He is a skilled rider and although many people can claim that type of proficiency, for the adolescent it seemed ingrained at a young age at first behest of his sire. He has assisted births, breaks and deaths all in the role of providing solace. At thirteen he went seeking an apprenticeship at Harperhall and found it although his tenure last only over two months: a Search experiment.

Said experiment was a promise to his mother, but Li was not grossly enthusiastic at the end goal of candidacy. When the day came and a bronze named Ikaroth entered his head L'ton fainted stepping into the barracks. His recovery is ongoing, now, though, a dragonrider.

Liton, being the eldest of ten children (three of which he grew up with), is a lot of things in their small unit. With a moody and busy mother, he became their leader, teacher, protector and disciplinarian, almost a father substitute for the ones who weren't there. Adler devised of the first-born, "sometimes a child who has lost his power, the small kingdom he ruled, understands better than others the importance of power and authority." Although seen by N'lon through his Turns, Liton sought the man out more after they moved to Fort Weyr and began to develop more of a personality. Father and son are usually close, but not very similar.
